What makes our hall so great

Our Community

Our community is what makes Melville special. We are a small hall with only about 250 people so you will soon start seeing familiar faces.

Meet Your Committee

Your committee is here to organise social activities and makes sure the your opinions are heard by the residential management team. Whether is a free bar or a chill cafe, we aim to have something for everyone.

Deputy Senior Student

Bio: My name is Ellie Harrison, I am a 4th year International Relations Student and have lived in Andrew Melville Hall since 1st year. I started in the AMH committee as Charities Officer and have been Deputy Senior Student for the past two years. My role as Deputy Senior Student is to be supportive to the rest of the committee, my main responsibility is logistics for the committee (organising who should be where and when). I have thoroughly enjoyed working with such a dedicated team, and being part of the committee has given me a real sense of belonging within the hall community. Living in Andrew Melville Hall has been a highlight of my university experience, and I am proud to contribute to making it an enjoyable place for everyone.

Favourite thing about AMH: My favourite thing about Melville is the community

Alex Wiseman

Social Convenor

Bio: The wonderfully humble Rev. Wiseman! You ever go to an AMH event? It's been organised by me - free bars, the ball, other social events, and of course the Café (my baby). Otherwise, I also sit on the executive committee which means I help manage and wrangle the general committee and do executive stuff (browse amazon for decorations and complain about the bar being cluttered).

Favourite thing about AMH: Social spirit! You can walk into any room and have a great time and conversation with everyone there! The free bars are pretty good too...
